Bishop Basil, Bishop of Wichita and the Diocese of Mid-America, reports that the parishes of St. Michael in Beaumont, Texas, and St. John the Divine in Lake Charles, Louisiana, were spared serious damage as a result of Hurricane Humberto which struck the region last week. The greatest inconveniences were the power outage and, in a very few instances, minor leaks caused by the high winds which forced the rain under shingles and through the smallest of spaces around doors and windows. The clergy of the parishes give glory to God for his protection and extend gratitude to those who inquired and prayed for them.
