Katabasiae

This is the last part of an Ode of the Canon. The first part is the Irmos, then each troparia, then the final Katabasia.

Cross, Katabasiae (Ode 9-Double)

These two Katabasiae of the 9th Ode of the Cross conclude the Canon on the Feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord on August 6th.  "Thou art the mystical paradise . . . Verily, death which befell the human race . . . ."

This is the Katabasia of Ode 9 for the Canon of the Feast of the Transfiguration, sung from July 27-31 and August 2-5.  "Thy birth-giving, O Theotokos, has been shown free of corruption . . . ."

Pascha, Katabasia-9th Ode-Megalynarion (chant)

This is the Katabasia of the 9th Ode of the Canon for Pascha: The Resurrection of Christ.  It is also sung as the Megalynarion in the Divine Liturgy on Pascha, and the Sundays of the Myrrh-bearing Women and the Blind Man.  The music is in Western & Byzantine notation.  "The angel cried . . . Shine, shine, O new Jerusalem . . . ."
