Meatfare Saturday (Saturday before Judgment)

Only Creator who out of the depths of wisdom lovingly govern all things and upon all bestow what is accordingly best for them, give rest to the souls of Your servants, for they have placed their hope in You, our Author and Maker and God.

The Saturday before Judgment – The day before the third preLenten Sunday is one of the several Saturdays of the Souls appointed by the Church for the commemoration of all the departed.

Sunday of the Last Judgment (Meatfare Sunday) March 6

Meatfare Sunday March 6

O Only Creator, who directest all in the depth of the wisdom of thy love to mankind, and rewardest all according to their worth, grant rest, O Lord, to the souls of thy servants; for in thee have they placed their hope, O God our Author and Creator.

His Grace Bishop MARK on The Passion of Christ

Come Receive The Light (CRTL) THE NATIONAL ORTHODOX RADIO PROGRAM for the week of 02/19/2005 will be "The Passion of Christ Part II" with His Grace Bishop MARK as guest.

After discussing the historical truths of the Passion narrative with Dr. Kesich the week priot, CRTL will be taking a more contemporary approach with His Grace Bishop MARK who will be speaking about what the Passion of Christ means to us in our daily lives. Understanding the Orthodox Christian faith also brings an understanding of a holistic approach to the Passion that sees it as part of Jesus’ whole experience here on Earth and not a detached one.
