The Dormition Fast and Feast

In giving birth thou didst preserve virginity; and in thy dormition thou didst not forsake the world, O Theotokos, for thou wast translated unto life for thou art the Mother of Life. By thine intercessions, deliver our souls from death.

Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

The Dormition Fast: August 1-14 and ending with the Feast of the Dormition on August 15.  No meat products during this time. 

The feast of the Dormition celebrates the falling asleep in the Lord of Mary, the Mother of Christ.
